The ercol originals line has roots back in the 1950’s, including pieces of timelss design that don’t show their age. Designed to be functional, the design was from the ercol founder, Lucian Ercolini, drawing inspiration from the Chiltern Hills and local designers from his residence in the 1920’s, High Wycombe.

Founded in 1920 by a young italian, Lucian Ercolini, whos ethos was centered around quality furniture, made by craftsmen who took pride in their work.
The family owned, ercol, continues in the 21st century to provide robust and honest furniture to reflect how we live today.
Made with integrity, classic designs such as the Loveseat, Bar stools and Studio Sofa, designed in the 1950’s are a testimant to the timeless nature of these pieces.

Founded
Temperature Design is a leading lighting a furniture provider in Melbourne, based in Collingwood. Representing popular brands such as Terence Woodgate, ercol and its own brand. See select stock available from ercol, including its popular Originals range.
1956
LOVESEAT INTRODUCED
The iconic Loveseat makes its debut, originally made from solid elm and beech. It debuted along with the Studio Sofa, Butterfly Chair and Stacking Chair.
1976
New chairman
Lucian R Ercolani passes, and his son, Lucian B Ercolani becomes Chairman. Today, ercol is still a family owned company.
2002
ercol origianls re-released
Reintroduced with Margaret Howell, working to reissue a selection of classic designs. The Originals classic design proving to be very popular.
2020
100 years of ercol
Marking 100 years since Lucian R. Ercolani first started his furniture factory in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

An iconic style, with tapered legs, a nod to the Windsor design. A solid ash moulded seat for comfort, makes for perfect use at a bench or breakfast bar.
This stool was originally made for use by designers, sat at drawing boards. A classic style to seamlessly compliment any living space.
